In Scotland this summer it has been really weird….it has actually been sunny! usually we get 2 days of summer then rain the rest of the time but this year was the exception I honestly dont remember the last time we had a good proper summer.
Talking of summer not only is it important to wear SPF everyday it is especially important to wear it when it is hot and sunny. My latest go-to SPF is the Bioderma Photoderm MAX SPF50+ I know I was raving about how good the Paula’s Choice SPF was and to be honest it still is a great SPF I just like that Photoderm is a dedicated SPF and not a moisturiser with SPF.
Photoderm MAX is an SPF of 50 and is broad spectrum covering both UVA and UVB exposure, this is a chemical(Organic) SPF and contains Tinosorb S (UVA/UVB),
Tinosorb M (UVA/UVB), Octocrylene (UVB/ Shortwave UVA), Bisoctrizole (UVA/UVB), Avobenzone (UVA), Ectoin (UVA only). As you can see this sunscreen is packed full of the newer more up to date filters that won’t be found in any American sunscreens due to FDA regulations.
I absolutely love this SPF not only because it sits beautifully on the skin it protects you from every angle, something I think is really important for a good SPF.
There is also a tinted version of this it comes in 3 shades which isn’t really inclusive, I originally tried out the tinted one but wasnt really sold on it as the light shade was a bit to dark for my skin tone so I ended up having to blend loads of it, I recently ended up buying the untinted version which is miles better as i dont need to worry about tide marks.
Even though this is a chemical (organic) SPF it does leave behind somewhat of a white cast but once blended into the skin and left to settle it disappears (or maybe i just slather on so much it makes my face white haha)
If you are in the UK you can find this in boots for £13 but whilst its on offer its only £9.32. If you are in the EU you can order it online from lookfantastic.com for £13
